The life of a cabin dweller is a lot different from what you experience right now. Typically, when you live in traditional homes, you have large areas, small apartments in big buildings, bigger bills, and more. The cabin lifestyle, is all about living a simpler life. Living in sometimes the equivalent of a “one room cabin”. However, for the most part, once you make the switch, you will see that even though you lose size, you still gain more than you ever imagined you could. Look around your home. How much stuff do you have cluttering up your life? How far do you have to go to find green grass and large trees? How much stress do you deal with on a daily basis? There is something very peaceful about staying in a cabin. If you don’t believe us, you may want to give it a try for yourself. We aren’t saying sell your house and move to the woods and a single room cabin. There are ways you can rent one for a weekend or a week when you go on vacation away from the bright lights of the city.
This little sample of life outside of the city may be the greatest thing you have ever experienced. It may be where you choose to retire to. It may even allow you to reconnect with your partner, your kids, your inner self.
You would be surprised by how much enjoyment you can find by stepping outside of the “norm.”
Whether it’s a power bank, gas generator or hardwired electric, camping without power is not an option. Gone are the days of camping without cellphone, tablets and portable fans. Rather than shaming the change, we should embrace the change. At the end of the day, getting people outdoors is the goal. If that means at the end of a long day of hiking, biking, exploring etc, ends with some screen-time, so be-it. At least people are still getting outside. A power source is certainly the first step in encouraging more to venture outside their comfort zone.
